This updated
self-study course, supplied on CD-ROM (Microsoft Powerpoint - PC Compatible/Mac
Compatible using Powerpoint Reader for System 9 version) provides a self-paced
means by which participants can learn or review this aspect of Transfusion
Medicine. Knowledge of this disease is critical for providing proper care
and treatment of both mother and infant. Upon completion of this course,
the participant will have an understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis
of HDN, be able to differentiate between ABO, Rh and "other"
causes of HDN, list the differences in prenatal testing for routine patients
Vs Rh-negative pregnant females, list the postpartum testing required for
mother and infant and discuss neonatal transfusion practices. The exam
to this course is unchanged in 2007.
