This image-rich
program (PC Compatible Only) provides select clinical and textual presentations
and laboratory features of those organisms high on the list as agents of
bioterrorism. Algorithms are provided by which the colony morphology, microscopic
features, and direct spot tests provide for a same-day presumptive identification
of each of the following agents: anthrax, cholera, brucellosis, plague,
melioidosis, glanders, and tularemia, prerequisite to immediate referral
of suspicious cultures to a reference laboratory for immediate confirmation.
