093.1 - Basic Level Toxicology and Drugs of Abuse

This updated
course includes a new section on herbals and physical enhancers in addition
to some of the most common drugs of abuse, the effects of these drugs on
the anatomy and physiology of the brain and body, and how these drug-induced
changes affect both behaviors and emotions. This course will enhance the
reader's knowledge of the use, effects, complications, and treatments of
several of the most common drugs of abuse from alcohol to "Ecstasy".
Participants will also gain an understanding of the principles and methodology
of Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry, and the Emit Immunoassay Systems,
along with CAP and SAMSHA guidelines, urine adulteration, and the legal
aspects of drug abuse. The exam is unchanged.
