
About CACMLE
- CACMLE, established in 1973, is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization solely
dedicated to the provision of quality continuing education in the medical laboratory
sciences.
- CACMLE produces continuing education programs in the form of self studies, audio-teleconferences,
workshops, and seminars. Designed for clinical professionals wishing continuing education
experience, for those with limited access to continuing medical education, and to
meet re-certification requirements, these programs are also beneficial to those wishing
to learn skills in areas other than their specialty area.
- CACMLE’s nationally acclaimed microbiology audio-teleconference series is the longest
running, with more than 180 consecutive programs since the late 1970’s.
- The Self-Study program is internationally recognized for its high quality and affordability.
Accreditation
- CACMLE is approved as a Provider for continuing education programs in the clinical
laboratory sciences by P.A.C.E.® (ASCLS); ASCP-BOC Certification Maintenance Program;
the AMT (AMTIE); the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science; and by various
states, including Florida DPR, the Clinical Laboratory Personnel Committee of the
Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, the North Dakota Board of CLP, California,
Montana, Nevada, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Territory of Puerto Rico, West Virginia,
and Wyoming.

- Credit for self-study courses is earned by achieving a minimum proficiency score
of 80% upon completion of a post-course exam.
- Credit for teleconference participation is earned by either working up a pre-conference
exercise or attending a teleconference session (1.0 contact hour for each) or both
(2.0 contact hours).
